There are many narratives and opinions about Genesis chapter 1. Some say it is allegorical or symbolic. Some say it is unscientific. Some say it is a true and accurate account of how the world and the universe began and should be taken literally. This is an issue that has many parts and cannot be thoroughly addressed here. However, there is one question we should ask and can address to some degree here, and that is "Does it matter?"
The Lord Jesus said that we can tell if someone is a false prophet by their fruit (Mt 7:15-20). This means that we can evaluate what someone is teaching by the effect it produces. This principle can be applied in many ways, including doctrines about origins. Charles Darwin did not invent the idea of evolution, but his books popularized it. This theory does not address the origin of life, matter, energy, or information. It purports to explain the origin of various species through mutations. The question raised here is "What is the fruit of this teaching?"
There are many scientists who admit that accepting evolution meant giving up their faith in God. This should not be surprising because Darwin did that himself. Atheism gives nobody hope or any answers to life's big questions, but belief in evolution has other disastrous effects. Darwin made statements in his books that are extremely racist. This led directly to the doctrine of eugenics, which is the idea that some people are lesser races, are contaminating the gene pool, and are therefore not fit to reproduce. It also includes the idea of eliminating some people. This doctrine led to such evil organizations as Planned Parenthood the parent organization of. which was founded by eugenicist Margaret Sanger. Eugenics was developed by Darwin's half-cousin Francis Galton after reading “Origin of Species”). Darwin’s son Leonard succeeded Galton as chairman of British Eugenics Society and served from 1911-1928. The logo for the second international eugenics conference in 1921 was a tree with the words “eugenics is the self direction of human evolution”. Darwin said, "“Thus the weak members of civilized societies propagate their kind. No one who has attended to the breeding of domestic animals will doubt that this must be highly injurious to the race of man…excepting in the case of man himself, hardly any one is so ignorant as to allow his worst animals to breed.” Karl Marx, considered the father of socialism and communism, was influenced by Darwin. He also wrote Satanic poetry. There is a book called "Marx and Satan" by Richard Wurmbrand about this. He passed that influence on to Joseph Stalin who murdered 20 million people.
Naziism also has its roots in Darwin. Although Adolf Hitler did not directly refer to Darwin in his writings, the ideas are clearly apparent. He believed he was speeding up the processes of evolution and natural selection (although natural selection is actually the opposite of evolution) by eliminating those he deemed unworthy of life and procreation - specifically but not exclusively the Jews. Eugenicist Ernst Rudin wrote the official Nazi policy on race. The Nazis killed about 6 million Jews and 6 million others. Communism killed about 100 million people in the 20th century.
The Nazis were also deeply involved in the occult. The Nazi symbol - the swastika was not invented by them. It was an occultic symbol they purposefully chose. Hitler read books about Satanism and demon possession as a child and hated Christianity. He was obsessed with finding artifacts that he thought would bring him and the Nazis spiritual power. He formed a group called the Ahnenerbe to search the world for religious artifacts including the spear that was allegedly used to pierce the side of Jesus Christ when He died and the cup He allegedly used at the last supper. It was called the Hogburg spear or the spear of destiny. The altar at Pergamum was moved to Berlin, and it is still there. The Lord said that Pergamum was where Satan's seat was (Rev 2:13). The Ishtar gate from Babylon is also in the same museum. They even tried to find the fictional Thor's hammer. Hitler had an occultic priest named Karl Viligut. Heinrich Himmler, the head of the SS and the Gestapo, made Wewlesburg Castle the headquarters of the SS. This is a place that has a history of witchcraft. They held occult services there. Himmler had death's head rings made for each member of the SS. He was also obsessed with reviving the old Nordic and Teutonic knights through the SS.
None of the above is good fruit. You can argue about which way to interpret Genesis 1 and creation vs. evolution, but how can one argue that the teaching of evolution has produced good fruit?
