"And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:8-9)." "And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (Genesis 2:15-17)." The serpent deceived Eve. She ate the forbidden fruit, and gave to her husband who also ate (Genesis 3:1-7). Although they did not physically die that day, they did spiritually. Death began to work in their bodies until they eventually did die. It could be compared to a flower which is cut from the plant. It may continue to look alive for a week or two, but it was dead the moment it was disconnected from the plant. Sin disconnects us from God (Isaiah 59:1-2). Unless we repent and are born again, we are spiritually dead (Luke 13:3-5, John 3:3-5, John 6:33-68, John 11:25, John 14:6, Acts 2:38, Romans 6-8). Only when we are connected to the life source of God can we live and be productive (John 15:1-16). The lifespan of man was dramatically reduced after the flood (Genesis 11, Psalm 90:10). Death passed from Adam to all men, and only the death of Jesus Christ can deliver us from it (Romans 5, 1Corinthians 15:20-22).
You can tell a tree by the fruit it bears (Matthew 3:10, Matthew 7:15-20, Matthew 12:33). You can tell a person or a doctrine by the fruit it bears (Galatians 5:19-23, 1Timothy 4:16, 2Timothy 4:2-4, 1John 4:1). The word of God brings life. The word of man brings death. There is a well known diagram supporting the belief of evolution called "the tree of life". There are two problems with this diagram. The first is it does not represent the fossil record or current understanding of genetics. The law of biogenesis is that life can only come from other life. Evolution does not explain where life came from. It is scientifically impossible for non-living matter to become a living thing randomly on its own. The fossil record shows the sudden rise of diverse kinds of creatures all at once, which is what the Bible describes. Even evolutionists must admit this. They call it the Cambrian explosion, and they cannot reconcile it with their belief as illustrated in the "tree of life" diagram that all life came from a simple single organism that defied all the laws of science and nature, not to mention the Bible. A more accurate description of the fossil evidence is an orchard wherein many kinds sprung up at once with variation in each kind.
The fruit of the teaching of evolution is not life. It is death. Evolution spreads atheism, and atheism spreads spiritual and physical death. Atheistic communism and Naziism drew their inspiration from Charles Darwin. Lenin called himself a "dear admirer" of Darwin. Stalin studied the Bible, but later read Darwin and became an atheist. Communism resulted in the death of about 100 million people in the 20th century. Ernst Rudin, a eugenicist, wrote the Nazi policy on race. Eugenics is a fruit of evolution. Naziism reulted in the death of 12 million people. Abortion, which also sprang from eugenics, has killed 1.3 billion people since 1980. The teaching of Jesus Christ gives life. One day He will restore the tree of life, either spiritually or literally (Ezekiel 47:1-12, Revelation 22:1-2).
